OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2010. As it is noted in the company’s communication, this project will help to reduce energy costs and will provide optimum utilization of bagasse. The sugar beet bagasse is a byproduct of sugar production from the sugar beet.

After drying and granulation, it is used for the livestock fodder. Sharp increase in the energy costs recent years stimulates the sugar producers to search for the best ways of using pressed bagasse. Sugar industry in Moldova, like most other manufacturing industries in our country and the world, is seeking a balance between the increasing energy prices, necessity to reduce the production costs and environmental protection.

One of the most effective solutions to this problem is the processing of sugar beet bagasse for biogas and fertilizers. Moldovan biogas plant will be the second in Europe. Company Sudzucker Moldova SA will hold a presentation of the project of the named biogas plant.

It will be attended by representatives of the company Sudzucker AG, board members of IM Sudzucker Moldova SA, representatives of ministries and departments of Moldova, international organizations and NGOs, experts and journalists.
