OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2010. According to the recent Ukravtoprom press-service release, the preliminary data shows a 69% output growth in the Ukrainian automobile industry: 5,267 vehicles have been produced in March 2010. Specifically, there were 4?,493 auto cars, 613 trucks and 161 buses produced over this period. In the 1Q2010, a total of 10,710 vehicles have been produced: 9,411 auto cars, 810 trucks and 489 buses.

Millennium Capital: despite a low comparative base employed in the calculations, the observed output growth of auto cars and buses characterizes positively the operational performance of such principal producers as UkrAvto <AVTO UK N/R> and Bohdan Corporation <LUAZ UK N/R>, and confirms the fact the Ukrainian automobile industry has begun to reclaim gradually its positions that had been lost in 2009. Additional factors supporting this observation are the recent announcements of these companies to the effect that UkrAvto began increasing its product markets and started to export its products to Albania, whereas Bohdan Corporation has increased its buses and trolleybuses output in March 2010 by 76.9% to 69 units as compared to the previous month.
