OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2010. TNK-BP announced that installation of a hydro treatment unit reactor has been completed at the Lisichansk Oil Refinery of the company (CJSC LINIK, Ukraine). This project will bring all diesel fuel produced at LINIK in conformity with Euro-4 requirements, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The hydro treatment unit overhaul came as a part of a USD 1.3 bln program supported by the Board of Directors of TNK-BP at the end of 2009 aiming at improving motor fuel quality over a five-year period. Overall, 11 investment projects will be launched in our 3 main refineries, four of them taking place at the Lisichansk Oil Refinery.

“We strive to bring the quality of our motor fuels to the internationally accepted standards. Ukrainian laws require that motor fuels comply with Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards at an earlier stage than in Russia. To this end TNK-BP launched several concurrent projects at LINIK to improve the quality of motor oil. Next December we are planning to complete the revamp of the isomerisation at the refinery. As a result, gasoline produced at LINIK will fully meet the requirements of the new regulation that will come into effect in 2011”, said Didier Baudrand, Executive Vice President, Downstream — Executive Director of TNK-BP.
