OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2010. The Conference ‘Inzinierius Chemijos Pramoneje: Siandien ir Rytoj’ (Engineer in Chemical Industry: Today and Tomorrow) took place in the Refinery of Public Company ORLEN Lietuva. The Conference was organized by the Lithuanian Chemical Engineers Society which had traditionally chosen one of the enterprises of the particular field of industry as a location for the conference held by it, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.

The event which took place at the largest chemical industry enterprise in Lithuanian – the company ORLEN Lietuva – dealt with the perspectives of training of engineers for chemical industry, interaction between the industry and universities, role of an engineer in the Refinery, relation of an engineer with environmental protection, salaries paid to engineers, involvement of engineers in trade union activities, as well as an engineer’s personality – nutrition and health particulars.

Heads and engineers of Lithuanian chemical industry enterprises, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, training institutions and trade unions took part in the Conference.

According to the initiator of the Conference, Vice Chairperson of the Lithuanian Chemical Engineers Society Juozas Ciupaila, one of the objectives of the Conference was enhancing of the image of an engineer of the particular field by remembering the fact that the material as well as a part of the spiritual culture of Lithuania was created by entire generations of engineers of different fields of activities.
