OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the increase in total agricultural production output was due to the increased production in the zoo-technical sector by 11%, which accounted for about 97% of the total agricultural output.

The condition of zoo-technical sector was stipulated by the positive trends of growth in production of the most types of the livestock products. In particular, in January-March 2010, a significant increase was registered in production of cattle and poultry - by 18,2%- up to 24,8 thousand tons, pigs- by 37,9% and poultry- by 11,1%.

At the same time, cattle breeding has decreased by 3,3%. Dairy production in January-March 2010 amounted to 80,8 thousand tons, increasing by 2% compared to the same period of the last year, while the production of eggs has grown by 4%- up to USD 118.7 million.
