OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. Belarus and Russia’s Moscow region have signed a 2010-2012 joint programme to promote cooperation in commerce, finance, science, technology and culture. The festive ceremony was held in Minsk.

Premier Sergey Sidorski signed the document on behalf of Belarus, while the Russian party was represented by Boris Gromov, the Governor of Moscow Region.

“The cooperative development program is there to promote a transition to high-tech production,” Sidorski said. In his words, Belarusian scientists’ laser technology know-how will be shared with production companies in Moscow Region, which are all for high-level integration with Belarusian enterprises.

In turn, Gromov admitted that Belarus and Moscow Region are yet to sign another series of agreements on the level of ministries and committee.

The turnover of commodities between Belarus and Moscow Region stood at RUB 62.1 billion in 2009, which makes Belarus Moscow Region’s third biggest trade partner after Tiumen and the City of Moscow.
