OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. Belarus’ consumer prices went up 1.1% on the month in March 2010, compared to a rise by 0.5% in February and 0.8% in January, an official in the National Statistics Committee told.

Prices rose 2.5% in January-March 2010, compared to 6.1% in January-March 2009.

In annualized terms, that is, March on March, consumer prices rose 6.2%, which compares to 15.5% in the period March 2008 through March 2009.

Food prices rose 0.7% in March 2010 and 2.2% in January-March 2010, non-food prices went up 1.6% and 3.1%, and consumer services prices increased 1.4% and 1.9%.

In 2009, inflation accelerated 10.1%. The forecast for 2010 stands at 9%-10%.
