OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. Belarus’ OAO Lidskoe Pivo brewery, based in the Grodno Region, reported a 1.1% decrease in output to 1.045 million decaliters in January-March 2010, a representative in the administration of the company told.

In March, beer output amounted to 422,000 decaliters, up 33.1% on the year.

Beer offering in plastic bottles decreased 2.3% to 841,000 decaliters, in glass bottles decreased 3.1% to 158,000 decaliters and in kegs rose 3% to 34,000 decaliters.

Supplies to the domestic market edged up 0.3% on the year to 911,800 decaliters.

OAO Lidskoe Pivo exports amounted to 68,000 decaliters, up 60.8% on the year.

Finland’s Olvi Oyj in early October 2009 increased its shareholding in the Belarusian brewery Lidskoe Pivo to 87.85% from 51%.

OAO Lidskoe Pivo accounted for 14.2% of the Belarusian beer output in January-March, up 0.6 of a percentage point on the year.

Olvi plc is one of Finland’s biggest beer and soft drink producers. It operates in Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
