OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2010. Within the strategy of step-by-step transfer to more promising access technologies Kazakhtelecom JSC introduces an absolutely new broadband Internet access iD Net for individuals by FTTH (Fiber to the home – optic-fiber to home /apartment) in Energetik village in Astana. Thus, Astana became the second region after Almaty, where innovational service of Internet access under iD Net brand is provided, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

FTTH technology, being one of the promising modern technologies for building networks of subscribers' access, allows providing complete spectrum of telephony, Internet and interactive TV. FTTH network in Astana is realized on base of GPON technology, tree-structured architecture with passive optic couplers on hosts.

It shall be noted that Kazakhtelecom JSC uses optic fiber for broadband Internet access from 2000. In all oblast centers and some other cities FTTC technology is applied (Fiber to the curb – optic fiber for group of homes). Innovation project in Astana supposes to lay optic cable to each subscriber's home. Thus, complete set of services “from one socket” will be organized for subscribers: iD TV (interactive television), iD Phone (telephony) and iD Net (broadband Internet access). Client's equipment “home gateway” is provided to subscribers to lease.

New service of Internet access iD Net will be provided by iD Net Motor tariff plan. Subscribers of iD Net can get Internet access to internal resources (IP-addresses of whom are registered in RIPE for Kazakhtelecom JSC) by incoming and outgoing channel to 100 Mbit/s, to external resources– to 2 Mbit/s. At that level of traffic to external resources composes 40 GB. If getting traffic level the speed to external resources reduces by incoming and outgoing channels to 128 Kbit /s. Monthly subscriber's fee composes 4600 tenge VAT included.

“Considering the rise of users' demand to Internet channels bandwidth, our company highly appreciates potential of the technology using optic-fiber cable on a “last mile” – says Askar Yesserkegenov, Chief Commercial director for Kazakhtelecom JSC.– That is why starting from Energetik village Internet access services iD Net, we are also ready to provide television and new generation telephony services”.

iD Net secures higher Internet access services, video and voice transfer as against with "Megaline". As it is known, fiber-optic communication lines today is the most up-to-date and qualitative means of information transfer.

From 2010 Kazakhtelecom JSC started providing iD Net in Almaty. Ethernet To The Home" (ETTH) is used, which supposes laying of optic-fiber cable directly to connectors in building entrances with further cable distribution of 5 category directly to a subscriber. It shall be noted that ЕТТН also secures higher resources as against with ADSL technology.

Detailed information of connection in Energetik village in Astana is available by 160.

Connection of iD Net for "Megaline" users is free, 50% discount is presented for new Internet users for iD Net connection, and also 100% discount for iD TV connection. Discounts are valid till 30 April 2010.
