OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2010. Ukraine will surely be raising salaries and pensions to citizens, said President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych at his press conference.

"Undoubtedly, we will be raising wages and pensions, as provided by the law we have adopted last year. We will observe it," said President Yanukovych.

President Yanukovych said that positive shift in overcoming negative influence of global financial recession can already be observed in national economy. "We've regained confidence in the future of our country and economy, we certainly laid a solid foundation for overcoming the crisis and the beginning of sustainable growth," said Viktor Yanukovych.

The President also reminded that on his instruction Ministry of Finance organized international audit in some areas, particularly searching for violations during issuing loans under government guarantees, public procurement, inefficient spending of budget funds in combating influenza epidemics and purchase of medical equipment, abuse in VAT refunds and so on.

"We know that the administration of this tax is the most corrupt in our country. So I will do my best to repel the hands of officials from this tax and ensure that VAT is refunded automatically," he said. President Yanukovych added that both domestic exporters and our partners in the world must know – Ukraine would solve this issue in the nearest future. The 20 billion UAH debts that have accumulated in this area would be repaid with issuing bonds.
