OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2010. The summary results of Transaero Airlines operational performance for the first quarter of 2010 and March continues to support the company's sustainable development platform as well as revealing a significant increase in its performance over the same period last year.

Results for January – March 2010:

Transaero’s passenger turnover reached 5,558.56 million RPK, 72.7% more than in the first three months of 2009.

The total number of passengers carried for the period 1,174,366 individuals, a 74.8% increase over the first three months of 2009.

The total amount of cargo carried reached 6,562.35 tons, 36.8% more than during the first three months of 2009.

Freight ton kilometres amounted to 537.35 million TKM, a 69.9% increase over the first three months of 2009. Year-on-Year Results for March 2010:

Transaero's March passenger turnover has grown 77%, totaling 1,842.93 million RPK.

The total number of passengers carried increased 77.5%, totaling 399,400 individual passengers.

Transaero transported a total of 2,764.737 tons of cargo in March 2010, a 41% increase over the total for the previous year.

Both domestic and international operations experienced growth in Q1 2010. Domestic passenger turnover grew 40% and international passenger turnover grew 85%. Transaero Airlines carried 92% of all passengers on its regularly scheduled flights.

Summarizing operational results, Transaero’s General Director Olga Pleshakova said, "The extraordinary results for Q1 2010 were achieved through the focused, responsible and professional performance of the whole Transaero team in line with the overall development plans of the company. Transaero will continue to strengthen its position in the market - both on domestic and international routes.
