OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2010. All the profits from processing Venezuelan oil should stay in Belarus, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he visited the Petrikov Region on 27 April.

“If even one kopeck leaves the country, you will have only yourself to blame,” Alexander Lukashenko told Director General of Mozyr Oil Refinery Anatoly Kupriyanov. “All the profits should stay in Belarus. They didn’t need to have the oil refined and didn’t need profits. If someone interferes, speak up at once”.

Anatoly Kupriyanov told media that Mozyr Oil Refinery is ready to process the oil. It is high-quality oil with high light oil content and low sulphur content. “We have already processed oil with similar composition. Once the oil is supplied, the enterprise will be technically capable of refining it and handing over the marketable output to the customer, Belarusian Oil Company,” said the Director General.

Anatoly Kupriyanov did not give a clear answer when asked about the expected profitability of refining the oil. He remarked that after Belarusian Oil Company evaluates results of the refining of the test lot of Venezuelan oil, the possibility of continuing the purchases and the refining of Venezuelan oil at Mozyr Oil Refinery will be determined.
