OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2010. The main theme of the forum will be "Modernization Strategy in the 1520 Area: Innovation, Investment, Integration, Intellect". Russian Railways is the general partner of the forum, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

During the meetings, the following themes relating to the modernization of the rail sector will be discussed:

innovative development strategies;

drawing up key business tasks and their potential solutions as part of work to speed up transport development;

analyzing long-term development trends in segments of the transport system;

raising the competitiveness of the rail sector in Russia;

optimizing the legal relationship between the state and business in the transport sector;

ongoing analysis of results of transport sector reform and development; and other themes.

The Russian Railways delegation will be led by company president Vladimir Yakunin.

The forum will be one of the company’s main events during 2010. The participants will include Russian government representatives, railway administration chiefs of CIS, Baltic, European, and Southeast Asian countries, the top management of Russian Railways, the heads of leading global transport holdings, financial institutions, major media holdings, and insurance and consulting companies, and representatives of diplomatic services.

The "1520 Strategic Partnership" International Business Forum is a communications platform whose purpose is to aid the establishment, maintenance, and development of business links within the 1520 Area, which unites countries with 1520 mm gauge rail tracks (CIS and Baltic countries, Finland, and Mongolia).
