OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2010. SB Sberbank's credit portfolio grew 17 % in Q1 Y2010 on a year-to-year basis and reached KZT102,266,322,460. Bank experts link this growth to recovery of the Kazakhstan economy, reported the press-centre of KASE.

The Bank granted credits to wholesale (15.79%), agriculture (14.17%), construction (13.51%), retail trade (12.30%) and energetic grids (12.20%). The main initiative to develop business is still with cities Almaty (52.8%) and Astana (12.1%).

However, financial analysts say Y2010 should see growth in crediting. And there is no question about quality borrowers. Despite for many companies the crisis and invest projects came at the same time, they did not stop their activities, having suspended new projects for a while.

As businesses become more active loans for working capital are very much required, and this is why Sberbank is keeping its crediting pace. Bank products allow for covering business of any scale, adding confidence when implementing bank's most ambitious plans.

"SB Sberbank has been operating in Kazakhstan for four years now" – Chairman Oleg Smirnov said. - "This was a period of very intensive work with the team keeping on pace which resulted in transition from quantity to quality. The bank was trusted and its funds were required. It is essential to keep in mind we apply individually all the clients. And crediting terms allow for meeting requirements of any client".

With interbank competition getting tough and stricter requirements to the Kazakhstan market and a form of banking services, traditional corms of crediting ceased to be effective. To prosper the bank is rendering a wide range of financial services including a credit line, banking service, consulting and other options.
