OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2010. Ingosstrakh has won the annual national IT Leader 2010 Award for insurance companies.  On April 22, 2010 Moscow World Trade Center held the VIII-th awarding ceremony of the annual IT Leader Award. Nowadays this is the only specialized IT Award in Russia. As usual, the event attracted a host of representatives of the largest Russian and international companies, equipment manufacturers, leading Mass Media and analysts.

It Leader Award is conferred to the companies and individuals that have had a direct influence on the distribution of the state-of-the-art information technologies increasing the efficiency of the companies' operation and, generally, improving the living standards of the society. The main criteria used to determine the winners are innovation propensity of the company and the CIO, the degree of the company's IT development, the scale of IT projects and their social and economic significance, novelty and sophistication of IT solutions. IT Leader Award expert panel consisted of IT and business world representatives - heads of Russian representative offices of the world’s leading IT companies, - publishers and chief editors of influential Mass Media.

The Award is given to the directors of departments and vice-presidents who are responsible for IT decision making and initiate the introduction of new information technologies improving their company’s operation.

Igor Khromov, COO, Deputy CEO of Ingosstrakh OJSIC, said he was happy that IT projects implemented by his company were so highly acknowledged by the professional community.  This is the result of the tremendous work performed by us all.  In July 2009, Ingosstrakh finished the installation of a complex anti-virus protection system providing pro-active security of file servers and workstation computers.  Last year in August, the company created an analytical system on the basis of Cognos, and this system is able to process large amounts of information typical of insurance business. Implementation of the new solution allowed to reduce the time for the preparation of management reporting and improve the efficiency of the company's operation in general.

Besides Ingosstrakh the award was also given to IT divisions of governmental authorities, industrial enterprises, companies working in the financial and telecommunications sectors, etc. for the implementation of socially significant projects. 

As a prize all award winners were given a crystal lozenge decorated by a silver ornament and symbolizing the novelty of ideas, transparency of intentions and innovativeness of initiatives.
