OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2010. Belarus does not need a new IMF program, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in his annual address to the nation and parliament.

“We do not need this program any longer, do we, Petr Petrovich [NBB Governor Petr Prokopovich]? We will do without it!” Lukashenko said.

He noted that Belarus had to thank “not its own dear Russia, but “unfriendly” IMF and Europe, the West” for billions of dollars in support during the 2009 recession.
