OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2010. Belarus’ OAO Belsolod, the country’s only producer of malt, reported a 13.7% increase in malt export in the first quarter of 2010 to 3,127 tonnes, a source in the company told.

In value terms, exports fell 36.3% to USD 884,000.

Supplies to the domestic market dropped 87.9% to 1,629 tonnes.

Belsolod’s sales totaled 4,756 tonnes in the first quarter, down 70.6% on the year.

In April, Belsolod plans to produce 7,300 tonnes of malt.

Belsolod was established in 1989 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1996.
