OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2010. In March Estonian Air carried 41,168 passengers on regular flights, which is 3.1% higher y-o-y. Altogether Estonian Air carried 46,772 passengers, which stayed on the same level y-o-y, reported the press-centre of Estonian Air.

In the first quarter Estonian Air carried altogether 113,999 passengers, out of which on regular flights 101,728. From Tallinn Estonian Air carried 109,836, from Vilnius 2,780 and from Tartu 1,383 passengers.

The total number of passengers decreased 6.6% y-o-y, on regular flights 3.5%.
 
In March Estonian Air carried 44,158 passengers at Tallinn Airport, out of which 38,554 on regular flights. The total number of passengers decreased 5.5% y-o-y, on regular flights 3.4%.
 
In the first quarter the market share of Estonian Air in the regular flights segment at Tallinn Airport was 41.5%, which is 0.8 percentage points lower y-o-y. The total market share (regular and charter flights) was 39%, which is 1.1 percentage points lower y-o-y.
 
In March the market share of Estonian Air in the regular flights segment at Tallinn Airport was 43.2%, which is 0.2 percentage points lower y-o-y. The total market share (regular and charter flights) was 40.4%, which is 0.7 percentage points lower y-o-y.
 
In the first quarter Estonian Air operated 2343 flights, which is 0.2% less flights y-o-y. In March Estonian Air operated 930 flights, which is 8.6% more flights y-o-y.
 
"Decrease in passenger number drop is a sign of economic stabilization, where our results go the same pace with Estonia's economic developments. Although the number of passengers in coming months will be somewhat affected by the recovery from ash ban, the upcoming holiday high season will bring an increase in the number of flights and passengers, "said Rauno Parras, Estonian Air's Vice President Commercial.

"The skies are open again and Estonian Air encourages to make an early plans for vacation,” added Parras.
 
 In the first quarter the regularity of Estonian Air was 97 % and the 15-minute punctuality was 83.2%. In March the regularity and punctuality were 97.2% and 82.7% respectively.
