OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2010. Renaissance Moscow Hotel having been built for three and a half years was opened on 18/1 Leningradsky Prospekt on May 8.

Mayor Yuri Luzhkov said at the grand opening ceremony that Moscow had received a great gift on the eve of Victory Day. The hotel has become the 267th one in Moscow while, according to the official, 20 new hotels have been commissioned in the Russian capital every year for the past few years.

The 4-star 366-room hotel equipped for physically challenged people has the area of 36,000 square metres. It contains a business centre, 12 conference halls, restaurants as well as a fitness gym and an indoor pool.

Mr Luzhkov added that Renaissance Moscow Hotel created 400 new jobs.

“A world financial centre contains not only a great number of banks and offices, but a whole lot of services such as sports facilities, cultural centres and hotels,” the mayor of Moscow emphasized.
