SFDI reports that documents will be received on four directions: social infrastructure (health facilities, kindergartens, community centres); economic infrastructure (local/community watersupply system, village or region roads, local power supply systems); sanitary and environment (local/community sewerage systems and pump stations, waste treatment, erosion control works); group shelters.

The companies that participated in last year’s selection are asked not to apply again.

On 12 March 2009, the WB Board of Directors approved the USD15 million loan to Azerbaijan to improve living conditions and economic opportunities for social integration for those displaced by the conflict with Armenia halted in 1994.

The project is oriented to implementation of component of micro-projects regarding Economic Development Support Project for 150,000 IDPs.  SFDI is the implementing agency.

With total budget of the new project of USD 20.5 million the Fund will finance USD 15 million on the conditions of the International Development Association (for 35 years with 10-year payment by installments). 50% of the project budget will be directed for health sector, 25% for water supply and sewage system, 25% for transport services.

Additional financing is connected with interest of the Azerbaijani government to continue implementing the project, which showed positive results.

Approved in 2005, the project had components of micro-projects, microcredits, and implementation of support. 150 small-scale projects on rehabilitation of infrastructure, water supply, power supply, roads, and drainage systems were financed, as well as social infrastructure such as schools and community centers.
