Although predominatingly it is associated with other industry, one should know that this is the leading global provider of propulsion systems for use on land, sea and in the air. Thanks to the lease agreement concluded today it will become an important partner of the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. for many years to come.

On the 12th May 2010 at 11.00, at the headquarters of the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. a long-term lease agreement between Rolls-Royce Marine Poland Sp. z o.o. and the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A was signed. The agreement concerns the lease of a piece of land with the area of over 6.7 thousand m2, located in Gdynia at Kontenerowa Street. Rolls-Royce Marine Poland Sp. z o.o. - the tenant, will provide services for marine propulsion systems to its customers in the Baltic Sea region in the service and repair facility which will be built there. The lease agreement was concluded for a period of 30 years.

The ship works of approximately 2 000 m2 built by Rolls - Royce Marine Poland Sp. z o.o. will provide repair services and consultancy on overhaul. The commencement of the construction works are scheduled for the summer, while the opening of the works is scheduled for the next year.

Rolls-Royce Marine Poland Sp. z o.o. belongs to the Rolls-Royce group, one of the world's largest suppliers of ship designs, ship equipment and integrated system solutions for ships. The company, among other things, manufactures ship's propulsion systems. The full range of maritime capabilities of Rolls-Royce includes ship design, on-board equipment, propulsion systems such as diesel engines and gas turbines, propellers, thruster rudders and water nozzles, and many other marine control systems, equipment and facilities.

The agreement concluded with this important partner for the port of Gdynia is the result of intense activities of the Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. in the field of creating new areas of activity within the area of the port. The PGA SA adjusts the port's offer to the current market needs via implementation of numerous and costly investments in the infrastructure and supra-structure, and at the same time trying to "attract" investors expanding range of services offered within the port area. The new partner, which is Rolls - Royce, located its project in the area of its logistics development center of the Port of Gdynia, in the immediate vicinity of the planned investments of the PGA SA within the framework of EU programs.
