OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2010. GM-AVTOVAZ would like to announce start of production for Chevrolet NIVA vehicles equipped with propeller shaft with constant velocity joints and transfer box with dual race bearings for output shafts, reported the press-centre of GM-AVTOVAZ.

In addition to it in order to reduce the general noise level within RPM range 3500-4500 min-1 the lever was improved and extended by a tilger.

To reduce noise in the engine compartment the heat shield upper bracket was enhanced.

Changes introduced will allow not just significantly reducing noise and vibration, but also improving quality and comfort of Chevrolet NIVA.

There are also some functional changes introduced to the vehicle, particularly changes for the front suspension assembly process, increase of lower control arms axis diameter and changes for lower control arms bushings. They help to save the vehicle from knocks by driving with front wheels ultimate position and provide better rigidity of lower control arms axis.

Thanks to improvements made in assembly and test processes and new materials used for inserts and bearing the durability of front suspension ball joint is extended.

Teeth profile in upper shackle and guide shaft in safety belt coil are eliminated to improve comfort by operation (easy extraction) of front safety belts. Spring clamps compensating rubber hoses shrinkage are introduced to eliminate leakage in the engine cooling system.

Corrosion resistance of components is also improved. Screws with Torx heads and 240hrs salt spray resistance (tested in a climate chamber under salt fog conditions) were introduced to prevent early rust spots in the bolts in subjected areas, and for parts in the hood compartment, battery fixing plate, clutch cylinder and steering housing Waxoil material is now used. To protect the windshield wiper blades from early corrosion its resistance was increased by 6 times up to 240hrs-value.

Thus the changes introduced will generally significantly improve the quality and comfort of the vehicle.
