OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2010. This was discussed at the working meeting of "Rospotrebnadzor" with the leadership of non-profit organization "Association of the alcohol market participants" ("AURA") held in Moscow.

During the meeting the parties have discussed problems of supply of alcoholic products to Russia. After the meeting it was agreed to continue consultations with Russian manufacturers and importers, as well as their counterparts from Moldova on improving quality and safety of Moldovan wine imported into the territory of Russian Federation. As it was informed before, Rospotrebnadzor has already rejected two big parties of wine from Moldova in March and April, respectively. The first batch of non-bottled Moldovan wine volume of 47 thousand liters was shipped by "Lion-Gri" (Moldova) to "Kuban Wine Company” SRL (Russia) and according to the Russian experts, did not meet safety requirements. After this, "Rospotrebnadzor” has strengthened supervision over the quality of Moldovan wines supplied to Russia.

The agency stated that the wine material "Aligote" in the amount of 49,5 thousand liters supplied by "DK Intertrade (Moldova) to the company "MMVZ" (Russian Federation) did not meet hygienic standards. As "Rospotrebnadzor" has noted, it shows the inability of the Moldovan supervisory bodies to ensure effective supervision of hygienic requirements for this product. Taking this into account, "Rospotrebnadzor" has decided to hold working meetings with the Russian and Moldovan manufacturers and suppliers, which traditionally import the Moldovan wine production to Russia – the members of the non-profit organization “Association of the alcohol market participants"(“AURA").

During the meetings and discussions it is supposed to assess the situation and develop a consolidated opinion on measures to be taken to ensure safety of products imported to the Russian Federation. It is also planned to discuss possible expansion of places of the customs clearance of the Moldovan wine production using temporary warehouses in Bryansk, Leningrad and regions. "Rospotrebnadzor" noted that current situation was discussed at the meeting with representatives of the Moldovan authorities where the parties have determined necessary steps required to strengthen control over the export of products to Russia.
