OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2010. Power Machines manufactured the second hydraulic generator for La Yesca HPP, Mexico in advance of the preset schedule. The equipment – 312 pieces of freight – is ready for shipment.

Under the contract terms, Power Machines company is to supply for the new hydroelectric power plant in Mexico two hydraulic turbines each rated at 375 MW, two hydraulic generators and auxiliary equipment. Power Machines’ share in the scope of the project with overall value of USD 800 mln exceeds USD 200 mln. The first hydraulic generator for La Yesca HPP was manufactured by Power Machines in August of 2009 in compliance with contractual timeframes.

La Yesca HPP will have the world’s highest concrete-faced earthfill dam. Its height will reach 220 meters. Total rated capacity of the power plant is expected to amount to 750 MW. The plant will form part of hydraulic power system at the Rнo Grande de Santiago River (Jalisco and Nayarit states). The power equipment installed at two other plants of this power system – 975 MW Aguamilpa HPP and 750 MW El Cajon HPP – was also supplied by the Power Machines company.
