OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2010. Freight traffic volume through Estonian ports in January-April 2010 amounted to 14.1 million tons of cargo, up 12.5% from the same period in 2009.

In April the country's ports handled 3.9 million tons of cargo, a 17.5% rise over last year’s April figures.

In April, the ports terminals loaded 3.1 million tons (+22.7% from April, 2009) and offloaded 810.900 tons of cargoes (+1.3%) on ships. In comparison with March, the April loaded volume rose by 16.5%, offloading - by 15.2%.

Throughput of the port of Tallinn (Estonia) in January-April 2010 amounted to 11, 706,800 tons, a 11.9-percent gain from the same period a year earlier. Container volume of the port increased by 3.9%, to 49,832 TEUs.
