OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2010. Landkom <LKE LN> reported that it had successfully completed planting 18,584 ha of spring crops during the spring seeding campaign. Of that amount 7,875 ha was planted with corn, 3,522 ha with spring wheat, 2,985 ha with sunflower seeds, and 2,980 ha with soybeans, the remainder of the land being allocated for non-cash crops. Combined with winter crops, the planted acreage totaled 39,967 ha (38% growth yoy).

The news is positive for the company, since it managed to plant all the acres originally planned. Yet Millennium Capital’s sole focus remains on costs that the company incurs. It is still to be seen whether the current management meets with success in reducing the costs, which is vital for the company’s chances to survive the current year and actually start bringing some value for its shareholders.
