As the press service of ANRCETI has informed, this growth was registered after a substantial drop in sales in the first quarter of 2009 and a slight increase in this indicator in subsequent quarters due to financial-economic crisis. During the reporting period, sales of Orange Moldova grew by 27,3% and amounted to 565 million leis, Moldcell sales increased by 16,8% totaling 173.1 million leis, while sales of Moldtelecom fell by 15,5%- up to 23,3 leis.

As a result, the average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) has increased compared with the first quarter of 2009 by 9,8% and amounted to 91.4 leis. During the same period the number of users of mobile telephony has increased by 8,4% and amounted to 2 million 792 thousand, including 96 thousand of users of mobile broadband Internet, provided by 3G operators.

The penetration of mobile services per 100 residents of the republic has increased by 6.2% and reached 78.4%. The growing number of mobile telephony users is due to the increased subscriber’s base of Moldcell by 18,6 thousand clients and Orange Moldova – by one thousand. Moldtelecom reduced its subscriber base by 500 clients. In early April, Orange Moldova had 1 million 827 thousand users Moldcell - 864,6 thousand, and Moldtelecom - 100,5 thousand, respectively.
