OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2010. TNK-ВР will commission three gas turbine power plants in 2010 with a total capacity over 80 MW. The new power plants will be built in 2010 at the Ust-Tegusskoye field of the Uvat project in the Tyumen region (first stage), the Van-Eganskoye field in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district (two stages) and the Verkhnechonskoye field in the Irkutsk region (second stage), reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

In 2011, the second stage of a 25 MW gas turbine power plant is planned for commission at the Kamennoye field in the Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district, while in 2012 the third stage of a 64 MW power plant is planned at the Verkhnechonskoye field (the company has announced a tender to supply generating equipment for it).

“According to our calculations, in the coming years in-house power supply is going to become more economically effective than buying energy on the market. And this is without calculating the effect of utilizing associated petroleum gas. TNK-BP plans to invest around USD300 mln in power plant construction through 2010—2012. The energy will be used exclusively to power oil and gas production sites. This will help maintain the rate of developing fields”, — said Pavel Strunilin, Vice President, Power Supply, TNK-BP.
