OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2010. In March 2010, the Current Account Balance on the Balance of Payments of Lithuania recorded a deficit of LTL 369.2 million. Compared to February (when the deficit on the current account balance made up LTL 36 million), the deficit increased by LTL 333.2 million, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

In March, the deficit increase was driven largely by a hike in the foreign trade balance deficit. In January-March this year, the deficit on the current account balance of the balance of payments totalled LTL 538.5 million or -2.6% of GDP. In March 2009 the current account balance showed a surplus of LTL 132.3 million, while in January-March it posted a deficit of LTL 55.6 million or -0.3% of GDP.
