OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2010. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov instructed vice prime ministers, ministers of responsible ministries and chairmen of regional state administrations to control all residential projects of over 70 per cent readiness in order to complete them this year. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this at a meeting on the completion of residential buildings of a high level of readiness.

"I give concrete tasks all participating ministers, vice prime ministers and chairmen of administrations: please, gather and find a decision on every project, you don’t need the Prime Minister for this purpose , - Mykola Azarov underlined, noticing that in the case of "unique situation" government can give state guarantees for the completion of residential construction projects.

Mykola Azarov have emphasized that we currently have the opportunity to complete residential buildings of a high level of readiness. According to Mykola Azarov it is necessary to elaborate mechanisms of lower mortgage credits for population and simplified procedure of the completion of residential construction projects, etc. “The government will support builders and population, creation of a home market is our strategic policy that we will conduct and realize through all media”, he noted.

At the same time the PM considers it is necessary for building companies to work out development and completion plans for the nearest two-year period. According to him, we could see worse situation in the second half of 2011 and in 2012 because of lack of documentation and preparation of new residential construction projects. “To be frankly, I worry more about what we will do in the second half of 2011 and in 2012, therefore, we must accumulate efforts to lay down the foundation for the next years”, he noticed. Mykola Azarov emphasized that we must take into account the situation in the market and financial ability of population to buy apartments in new buildings.

In addition, the Head of the Government instructed Vice Prime Minister Viktor Tykhonov and Minister of Regional Development and Construction Volodymyr Yatsuba to examine prices on production increased by metallurgical enterprises in the domestic market. “We have put limits for metallurgical enterprises. We have given them cheap gas, and you, friends, don’t increase prices in the home market, we have signed relevant agreements. Where from these prices?”, he said.

Mykola Azarov noted that at the next meeting, being held in a month, we will listen to a report on implementation of the above-mentioned tasks.
