OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2010. The Moscow Arbitration Court pronounced validity of the decision and determination issued by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) regarding "Infocom" CJSC, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 18th November 2009, FAS Russia found that "Infocom" violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (which prohibits abusing market dominance). The company violated the law by unreasonably cutting off power supply to the Institute of Economics and Business and preventing entry of the entity to the electric power supply market.

"Infocom" CJSC has dominant position on the market for the services for electric power transmission within the boundaries of its networks and is able to exercise decisive influence upon general conditions on the market of services for electric power transmission, push other economic entities from the market and (or) create difficulties for entry of other economic entities to the market.

FAS Russia issued a determination to "Infocom" CJSC to resume the flow of electric energy to the Institute of Economics and Business and do not prevent the flow in the future. The determination also sets requirements to prevent violations of the law on electric power supply industry such as creating obstacles to power supply of the entities connected to the networks of "Infocom" CJSC.

FAS Russia has initiated an administrative case against the company to determine the size of sanctions.
