OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Johan Dahl, Trade and Industry Minister of the Faroe Islands.

The parties addressed the cooperation prospects for Gazprom and the Faroe Islands in the energy sector and outlined the most appealing areas of interaction.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunities of launching joint oil and gas projects by Gazprom and Danish Dong Energy.

In addition, the meeting participants noted the cooperation potential for the Company’s specialized subdivisions and Faroese Telecom in the telecommunications sector.

The Faroe Islands represent an island group located in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean between Scotland (Shetland Islands) and Iceland. The Islands are an autonomous province of the Kingdom of Denmark. Since 1948 the Faroe Islands have taken control of most matters except defense and foreign affairs.
