OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2010. As it was informed in at the National Bureau of Statistics, the industrial output growth was due to the increased production at processing industry enterprises- by 7,1% and energy sector - 1,4%, which stimulated the increase in the overall production volumes by 5,4% and 0,3%, respectively.

The increase in the industrial output in this period was due to the output growth at the factories producing wines - by 21,4%, clothing - 15,2%, tobacco products - 66,8%, distilled alcoholic beverages – 53,6%, footwear - 7.4%, cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery -11,8%, carpets -12,8%, paper and cardboard - 12,1%.

Production, processing and preservation of meat and meat products has increased by 2%, production and distribution of electricity -by 2%, furniture - by 4,2%. During the same period, the production of pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems has increased by 1,7 times, suitcases and bags - 28,1%, medical and pharmaceutical products - 23,2%, fats and oils - 3,1%, varnishes and color -1,5%.

At the same time, in January-April 2010 the production at the factories producing medical devices, precise, optical instruments has decreased by 48,5%, in the extractive industry – by 21,4%, in metal industry – by 18,6 %, respectively.

The output of fabricated metal products, except for machinery and equipment has decreased by 17,5%, rubber and plastic goods - by 12,7%, bread and pastry products - by 2,5%, wood and wooden products - by 33%. As InfoMarket agency has informed before, in 2009 the output of Moldovan industrial enterprises of all forms of the ownership amounted to 23 billion 266,6 million leis, 22% down compared with 2008. The National Bureau of Statistics does not take into account data on the Transnistrian region.
