OREANDA-NEWS. The XIX International Banking Congress (IBC - 2010) takes place in St Petersburg on 26-29 May 2010. The focus of the Congress: "Banks: Life after Crisis", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 27th May 2010 Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Andrey Kashevarov will speak at the plenary session on the "Protection of Competition on the Market of Banking Services".

This year the annual International Banking Congress is organized as part of the events to commemorate 150 years of founding the Bank of Russia.

Following the established tradition, the Congress attendees include representatives of the Office of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation, the Council of Federation, the State Duma, the Government of St Petersburg, the Bank of Russia, international financial institutions, Russian and foreign banks, audit firms, consulting and IT companies, banking associations.

At the plenary sessions and sections participants will discuss the issues of relations between financial and real sectors of the economy, the prospects of improving bank risk management, as well as bank regulation and control in view of the lessons the banking system learned from the global financial crisis, and modern trends in developing banking business.
