OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2010. The Government will consider a bill to reduce the list of economic activities subject to licensing. As the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov informed the officials will consider that question today at a special meeting.

"Today, I will hold a meeting on reduction of the list of economic activities subject to licensing" - the Head of Government noted.

According to him, the law of Ukraine defines 78 species of economic activity and nearly 2,250 kinds of works, services, and operations subject to licensing in this area.

"Certainly, when it comes to activities that directly affect the safety, health, environment, public safety, then there can be no compromise. Here the control is the responsibility of the State. However, over-regulating of those activities where a natural barrier for the poor-quality of goods and services is the consumer, the market, is senseless and dangerous for economic freedom. That is why we carefully and deliberately decide on reducing the number of types of activities subject to licensing" - Mykola Azarov said.
