OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2010. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the deliveries of Moldovan wines and brandies to CIS countries and European Union in January-March 2010 has increased by 17% and to such countries as USA, Israel and China - by 2,5 times, respectively.

As the Ministry of Agriculture notes, the growth of Moldovan alcohol products exports in the period was mainly due to lifting the ban on wine and brandy materials supplies, abolition of the mandatory use of the state trademark, 30% reduction for certification of goods in the National Centre for Quality Control, as well as cancellation of mandatory certification of alcohol beverages exports in the National Centre for Quality Control.

The Ministry of Agriculture states that currently it studies the possibility of amending the Law on grapes and wine for abolition of the tax charged with the winemaking companies to the Fund of viticulture revival and the transition to another mechanism for subsidizing wine industry. The group of MPs has also developed a legislative initiative to facilitate certification of alcohol products exported, if the certificates of compliance are not requested by the importer.
