Established on December 19, 1989, the North West Bank Association (NWBA) is tasked with protecting the interests of the northwest region’s banking community, with working to improve the legal and regulatory framework required for successful bank operations, enhancing public confidence in the country’s banking sector, and disclosing full and timely information on the activities of the Association’s member banks.

Uniastrum Bank’s Saint Petersburg branch opened for business in 2004 and today comprises six neighborhood banking centers, as well as the main branch office itself.

Uniastrum’s Saint Petersburg arm provides a broad array of banking services for retail and corporate clients alike, including cash management services for individuals and legal entities, deposit services, retail and corporate lending, forex transactions, promissory note operations, money transfers via the Unistream network, acquiring, international payments, issuing and administration of bank cards, including corporate and payroll cards.

“For us it’s a great honor to be invited to join the North West Banking Association,” says Oleg Shvetsov, Acting Chairman of Uniastrum’s Management Board. “The Bank’s branches in Russia’s North West are going from strength to strength, particularly where our core business lines are concerned. This year we plan to launch a range of new products in the region, the bulk of which will be fresh retail credit initiatives.”
