OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. Moscow’s first state-run multiplex cinema will be a substitute for the Baltika cinema located near the Skhodnenskaya metro station in northwestern Moscow.

“As the new Baltika is run by the state, the most up-to-date technologies in cinema will be enjoyed by those who cannot currently afford such a luxury,” the local prefect, Yelena Vasina, said.

The official added that free tickets would be regularly distributed among pensioners, large families and vulnerable social people.

“The demolition of Baltika is to start on June 15 and end on July 19. The locals will be able to go to a nearby cinema only in late 2010 as the new multiplex cinema is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter [of the current year],” Ms Vasina noted.
