Coal Stocks at TPPs of ECU Amount to 1.7 mn Tons
OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2010. In May 2010, the thermal power plants of the generating companies whose stakes had been transferred to the authorized fund of the national joint-stock company ‘Energy Company of Ukraine’ (ECU), received 1,900.8 thou.tonnes of coal, out of which 1,438 thou.t was obtained through the state-run company Ugol Ukrainy, informs the press-service of ECU NJSC.
As of June 1, the coal stocks at the TPPs of the GenCos were 1, 729 thou.tonnes, in particular: 577.3 thou.tonnes at the power plants of Dneproenergo; 249.9 thou.tonnes at Donbassenergo; 460.8 thou.tonnes at Zapadenergo, and 441.2 thou.tonnes at Centrenergo.
1,348.2 thou. tonnes of thermal coal was consumed for the generation of electricity and heat in May.
In May, the termal power plants of ECU NJSC produced 2,925.9 thou. kWh of electricity having increased the output by 133.4 thou. kWh, or by 4.8%, y-o-y.
Energy Company of Ukraine controls the state stakes in four energy generating companies: Dneproenergo, Donbassenergo, Zapadenergo and Centrenergo.
