The Office has developed and offered for open discussion also in business circles draft Regulations on the status of 'authorized economic operator (DEO), which provides some advantages in customs control. It is assumed that economic agents with the status DEO will behave reduced documentary and physical checks, as well as the benefits will be provided for the selection in course of customs declaration.

Status of DEO will be provided to the economic agents with at least 3 years of operation, without violations of customs regulations or other areas. They also should not have external economic operations through offshore zones and should not have debts to the Customs authorities. Eligibility of the status of DEO covers the economic agents with last 3 years in foreign trade transactions for a total customs value of more than 5 million lei per year, or with more than 50 customs operations for the past 3 years.

The status of DEO will be provided on the proposal of the head offices of the Central Office of the Customs Service. The Office will suspend or revoke the status of DEO, if the status has been assigned on the basis of erroneous or incomplete information or violation of customs laws.
