OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2010. The President of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin and the head of Belarusian Railways Anatoly Sivak signed an agreement in Moscow to develop high-speed passenger services between Moscow - Minsk – Brest. The new services will travel at a maximum speed of 160-200 kph., reported the press-centre of RZD.

In this connection, a joint working group will be set up to implement a project for the automatic changing of the gauge of the rolling stock wheel pairs.

In addition, the parties agreed to conduct a feasibility study on investing in high-speed services between Moscow - Minsk - Brest with a defined level of investment to develop rail infrastructure and rolling stock and evaluate their effectiveness.

The two sides also agreed to share best practices in creating logistics supply chains with technological support for rail transport and to equip the high-speed passenger trains with rolling stock meeting the latest technical requirements.
