OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2010. Belarus’ Finance Ministry has posted a republican budget deficit of 1.3 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), or 3% of the gross domestic product (GDP) in January-April 2010, an official with the Finance Ministry told.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 9.2 trillion rubles in January-April, or 25.8% of the adjusted target for the whole year.

Revenues from foreign economic activities amounted to 2.1 trillion rubles, 21.2% of the target, from the profit tax 1 trillion rubles, 28.6% of the target, from the VAT 3.1 trillion rubles, 24.8% of the target. Revenues from excise payments reached 1.2 trillion rubles, 26.7% of the target.

Republican budget expenditures reached 10.5 trillion rubles, 26.7% of the target for 2010.

Expenditures on welfare, science, culture, healthcare, mass media, sports, education, etc. amounted to 1.9 trillion rubles, 30.5% of the target for 2010, national economy expenditures were at 3.6 trillion rubles, 27.8% of the target, and general state expenditures at 3.7 trillion rubles, 23.6% of the target.

Budget arrears amounted to 98.1 billion rubles as of May 1, up from 58.7 billion rubles from January 1.

Republican budget revenues are projected at 35.522 trillion rubles, and expenditures at 39.206 trillion rubles. Budget deficit is expected at or below 3.7 trillion rubles.
