OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2010. Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year increased 9.1% on the year in January-April 2009 to 1.285 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Commercial timber procurement rose 3% to 739,000 solid cubic meters, wood veneer output rose 19.3% to 56,900 cubic meters, and sawn lumber production increased 3.2% at 307,700 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output rose 7% year-on-year to 13.1 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went up 4.8% to 105,100 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output increased 6.5% to 483.1 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Inventories of woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies amounted to 301.5 billion rubles on May 1, 2010.
