OREANDA-NEWS. June 09, 2010. XIII TransBaltica 2010 international conference took place in Riga (Latvia). It was attended by the representatives of the administrations of Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary and China.

The main points of the discussion were the trends and prospects of freight and transit services market development, forecasts of growth in Baltic transit industry and development of transport infrastructure in the united Europe, development of strong and mutually profitable cooperation with the partners from Europe and Asia.

Chief of the Analysis Department of the Russian FCS Vladimir Ivin made a report on Customs Managing in the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

Deputy Chief of the Organization of Customs Control Department of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Planin and representative of the State Revenue Service of Latvia, the Department of the Organization of Customs Control, Edgars Mazuls also spoke at the conference. In their speeches they touched upon the questions of the facilitation of customs procedures and intensification of customs bodies’ cooperation.

June 4, a flying session within the conference took place in Ventspils free port.
