OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. Serhiy Tigipko believes in the effectiveness of reforms in Ukraine, because there are all preconditions for this: consolidated power, political will and public support. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine said this during the television broadcasting on TV channel ICTV in program "Freedom of speech".

According to him, the Cabinet is preparing the legislation, necessary for economic transformation, taking into account the best international practices, as the previous Government had not taken any decisions in this direction.

The official considers the Law of Ukraine "On public procurements" adopted by the Verkhovna Rada to be an important step towards FTA with the EU. "While these decisions will be passed, the President will support liberal reforms, we have to do everything possible and give a concrete result", he said.

Serhiy Tigipko informed that the package from nine deregulation bills and the bill on the single social tax submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Vice Prime Minister predicts that by the end of the current session of the Parliament may be adopted a new Tax Code. In addition, the Government has already prepared bills on the gas market, single regulator of communal tariffs and reduction of  the number of licensed activities, as well as five bills on technical regulation, which soon will be sent to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Also we completed the draft Budget Code, under which eight types of taxes will remain in local budgets.

The Vice Prime Minister stressed that the main task for the Government is to improve the business climate in Ukraine and pulling the economy out of the shadow. According to him, the mechanism of VAT refunds and measures on simplified tax system have already developed. In addition, we take steps to eliminate violations of customs and tax services.

"Ukraine needs reforms. First of all, we must deregulate the economy, simplify procedures for starting a business and exit from it. These reforms bring us to the EU and will push to economic development", outlined Serhiy Tigipko.

The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine also added that reforms require careful preparation, and even unpopular steps to implement in a way to do not cause harm to the simple Ukrainians. "If the power takes concrete steps, the people will trust it. The Government came to work for the society and should be responsible to the people", stressed the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
