OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2010. TATNEFT is implementing a number of technical/technological and organizational measures to ensure environmental safety of oil production and to ensure stable and trouble-free operation of oilfield facilities, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

During 2009 and the 1st quarter of 2010 OAO TATNEFT produced corrosion resistant pipes in the amount of 709.2 km and also produced 7,637 tons of corrosion inhibitors. 1,169 wells were equipped with cathodic protection, anticorrosion coating with varnish and paint materials was applied at 10,408 square meters of vertical steel tanks and horizontal settlers and 2,629 km of pipelines were subjected to technical diagnostics.

The Company pays particular attention to environment control in the area of the Company's activity, avoidance and reduction of the negative impact of the oil production on all components of the ecosystem. Implementation of measures to protect water bodies has resulted in maintaining a stable chlorides and petroleum products content within the admissible limits in the major rivers of the oil producing region. Chemical and analytical laboratory of the Pressure Maintenance Administration (UPTZH dlya PPD) performed 23,395 tests of water samples of surface water bodies and drinking water sources in 2009 and the 1st quarter of 2010.

The atmospheric air at the settlements located in the area of OAO TATNEFT's activities is monitored in accordance with the approved schedule. The industrial sanitary laboratory of Tatneftegazpererabotka Administration performed 8,586 analyses of air samples during 2009 and the 1st quarter of 2010. No cases of exceeding the established standard values were reported, either.
