OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2010. The National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activities and the State Development Bank of China have signed credit agreement. The signing of the document took place within the Tashkent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

In line with the agreement, the Chinese bank is allocating USD75 million for the financing of small business and private entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan, as well as investment projects.

The gradual cooperation between the two large financial institutions of Uzbekistan and China started in October 2005. Since that the National Bank of Uzbekistan has been allocated two credit lines worth USD80 million for the financing of small business projects. Uzbek businesses received reliable support on 120 projects.
