OREANDA-NEWS. June 16, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted a joint meeting of the Company’s Emergency Response and Fire Safety Commission, and the Civil Defense Board. The meeting was moderated by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

The meeting participants deliberated on how to raise the performance of volunteer civil defense teams of Gazprom’s subsidiary companies. Particular attention was paid to the rescue training and certification opportunities to be arranged at the Gazprom Training Center for these teams.

In addition, the meeting took notice of the information about deployment and operation of modern local warning systems for civil defense at the Gazprom facilities.

Based on the meeting results, specialized structural units of Gazprom and its subsidiary companies were tasked to further streamline the corporate system for civil defense and emergency response.
