OREANDA-NEWS. June 17, 2010. Pavilion No 57 of the Russian National Exhibition Centre in Moscow hosted the 12th National Museum Festival Intermuseum 2010 and the 9th exhibition ‘Museum Equipment and ExpoMuseum Technology’. Every year Ingosstrakh participates as a partner in this event.

This year the theme of the festival, whose traditional motto is ‘Museum, Unity of the Diverse’, was defined as ‘The Museum is a guardian of the past, a teacher of the present and a creator of the future. About 200 organisations participated in the event, Russian museums with various specialisations, manufacturers of exhibition equipment, companies specialising in the preservation of valuables, designers, artists and other museum specialists.

Among the exhibitors, participating in the festival were such leading Russian museums as the State Hermitage, State Russian Museum, A.S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Tretyakov State Gallery, Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Astronautics, Timiryazev State Biological Museum, State Darwinian Museum and many others. For the first time the Belorussian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the Museum of Yurevets (Ivanovo region), Memorial Estate-Museum of academician I. Pavlov (Ryazan region), Museum of the History of the Youth Movement (Ryazan region), Memorial Complex of USSR Pilot-Astronaut  A. Nikolaev (Chuvashia), A. Netsvetaev Local History Museum of Ochersk (Perm region), Dvinogorye Natural, Architectural- archaeological museum/preserve (Voronezh region), Kostenki State Archaeological Museum-Preserve (Voronezh), Historical, Cultural, Landscape-Natural Museum-Preserve ‘S. Khudekov’s Estate’ (Ryazan region), Yekaterinburg Zoo, ‘Shuravi’ Municipal Museum of Internationalist Warriors(Yekaterinburg), M. Starostin Mining Local History Museum (Sverdlovsk region) were among the participants.

As part of the festival numerous presentations of museum, educational and scientific projects were given; theatrical and museum programmes and contests were organised. The business programme included training workshops and round tables devoted to the most pressing problems facing Russian museums.

This year Ingosstrakh and the competent jury of the festival introduced two new monetary awards: Honour and Dignity of the Profession and Service and Devotion to the Job. It also has to be noted that the insurer significantly increased the size of the awards. In the 11 years that this festival has been held, 110 museum employees have been given Ingosstrakh’s awards. The award ceremony 2010 was held at the New Opera theatre on June 6th.

The Honour and Dignity of the Profession award for 2010 went to the director of the Spasskoye-Lutovinovo museum N. Levin, while the Service and Devotion to the Job award went to the director of the V. Polenov State Memorial Historical, Art and Natural Museum-Preserve, N. Gramolina .
