OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2010. Russian Railways President Vladimir Yakunin and Stockholm School of Economics President Lars Bergman signed a memorandum in St Petersburg on continuing cooperation and strategic interaction on the Corporate Training Programme for Russian Railways in Modular Executive MBA Format, reported the press-centre of RZD.     

"This is an entirely new programme, based on the traditions and competencies of the Stockholm School of Economics, and taking into account the specifics and requirements for young staff at Russian Railways. This year the programme will be presented in an expanded format, and the two best graduates will have the chance to undergo a full training course in Stockholm", Vladimir Yakunin told programme participants.

Lars Bergman remarked that the Stockholm School of Economics has a century of experience in higher education, works closely with 110 companies, and particularly values the partnership relations with Russian Railways as a major business.

The Corporate Training Programme for Russian Railways in Modular Executive MBA Format corresponds to the first year of study at the Stockholm School of Economics. This programme is part of the strategy for improving the workforce potential of Russian Railways. Selection of candidates for the programme is conducted in line with Stockholm School of Economics requirements, and all candidates must have management experience, leadership potential, career progress, motivation for training, and teamwork skills.

Last year, 35 specialists successfully completed the course. This year, 40 rail sector employees are taking part in the Corporate Training Programme for Russian Railways in Modular Executive MBA Format at the Stockholm School of Economics.
